Carol T. CHRIST is the 10th president of Smith College, among the largest and most prestigious women’s colleges in the United States.  A scholar of English literature and former executive vice-chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley, CHRIST received her doctorate from Yale University and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has spoken widely on women’s issues and the career choices faced by women across the globe.
