This is the second in a series of events aimed at both young and experienced professionals in the journalism field, where an Editor will share both his/her experience, and also the latest developments at his/her news organization. He talked briefly on the above topic at this cocktail event. Philippe Massonnet has been Regional Director of Asia Pacific since September 2015. He graduated from France’s CUEJ School of Journalism (Centre Universitaire d’Enseignement du Journalisme) and the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales). He is a specialist on China, and has written three books on the country. He was Global News Director of Agence France-Presse from 2009-2014. He was previously head of the Europe-Africa Region. He was also an AFP correspondent in Beijing from 1992-96, and bureau chief from 2002 through to the Olympic Games in 2008. He also headed the General News division at AFP in Paris in the late 1990s. |
