Conventional wisdom says that women, minorities, and immigrants in America detest President Donald Trump. Ms. Ma is a member of all three groups, but she is one of his most unabashed fans. During the U.S. presidential election in 2016, she advocated for Trump as a senior official of a national political organization. She shared why she supported Trump as a political candidate and continues to support him as President of the United States today. She discussed Trump’s appeal to the American electorate, his administration’s controversies and accomplishments, his domestic and foreign policy agenda, and the unconventional nature of his presidency. Ying Ma is a senior advisor at Avenue Strategies, a government affairs and political consulting firm in Washington, D.C. In the U.S. presidential election of 2016, Ms. Ma served as the deputy director of the Committee for American Sovereignty, a national political organization formed to support the candidacy of Donald J. Trump. Earlier in the same election cycle, she served as a senior policy and communications aide for the Ben Carson presidential campaign. From 2007 to 2012, she was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She received a B.A. in Government, magna cum laude, from Cornell University and a J.D. from Stanford Law School. Ms. Ma legally immigrated to the United States from China at the age of ten. |
