FCC club lunch with John R. SLOSAR
Speaker: John R. SLOSAR
Chief Executive, Cathay Pacific Airways
Topic: The Third Runway debate: facts and myths
Does Hong Kong need a third airport runway? Air traffic is increasing and takeoff and landing slots at busy times are already congested. But Hong Kong is also building a high-speed rail line that may take a lot of passengers who previously traveled by air, while environmentalists have expressed concern about the landfill needed for a third runway. Mr. John SLOSAR shared his thoughts on the proposed third runway, at an FCC club lunch session on 28 June 2011.
Mr. SLOSAR was appointed Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific Airways on 31 March 2011. He joined the Swire group in 1980 and has worked with the group’s Aviation Division in Hong Kong, the United States and Thailand.
