FCC club lunch with Tony TYLER
Speaker: Tony TYLER
Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific Airways
Topic: It’s au revoir Hong Kong – but never goodbye
Tony TYLER promises a not-too-corporate look over his life and times in Hong Kong.
Mr. TYLER, an FCC member, is retiring as Chief Executive of Cathay Pacific Airways on 31 March after 33 years with the company, most of them spent in Hong Kong. He has been selected by the board of Governors of the International Air Transport Association – IATA – to become its Director General and Chief Executive Officer.
It’s a big step onto the international stage, but he will be taking with him more than three decades of experience of the ups and downs of the airline business. He has seen Cathay Pacific grow from being a relatively small regional airline to one of the world’s best premium carriers.
More than that, he will be taking with him some great memories – from both inside and outside Hong Kong’s corporate whirl.
