Wall Exhibition: QUEEN ELIZABETH II A Retrospective Photographs by Agence France-Presse and the SCMP
We remember fondly the life and work of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The longest reigning monarch in British history, she was an enduring presence in public life. As our greatest diplomat she was at the forefront of international engagement, visiting 110 countries across 6 continents. She visited Hong Kong twice, first in 1975 and again in 1986 following her state visit to China. During her time, she had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong City Hall, Kwai Chung container terminal and industrial areas in Tsuen Wan. Her visit also inspired the development of a new sports stadium, subsequently named the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
The British Consulate-General was overwhelmed by the tributes from Hong Kong to Her Late Majesty and their ‘Boss Lady’. Her legacy remains a source of constancy throughout times of change. We are delighted that the Foreign Correspondence Club in association with Agence France-Presse and the SCMP are running this exhibition. We welcome the opportunity to celebrate and commemorate her extraordinary life and legacy through these exceptional photographs.
