Request for bids for: Digital, Online and Social Media Editor FCC (Tender closed)
This is a unique position with the opportunity to implement a complete digital strategy for the FCC, including timely updates of the new FCC website, relevant and important posts on social media as well as assisting with the FCC communications programme such as the “FCC Activities” email that is sent to members. The Club makes it a priority that content be published online both promptly and accurately, with the best of the online content being made available for repurposing in The Correspondent, a tender for the publication of which is being offered separately.
Contract period: One year from contract signing.
Contract termination: Two months notice or otherwise as agreed between both parties.
Deadline for bid: Friday 5 August 2016

1. Editorial:
The FCC digital, online and social media editor will be responsible for the content and images on the new FCC website. You will plan, research, write copy and edit the content of the website. You will publish timely posts on behalf of the FCC on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Linked In and other social media. You will also be responsible for creating and publishing a visually attractive FCC Activities email and prepare other emails to publicise FCC news and events as required.
The FCC digital online and social media editor is responsible for:
- producing new content and writing it in an interesting and appealing manner;
- planning and outlining the appropriate placement of FCC content on the website;
- maintaining the FCC website and ensuring the information is accurate and current; and
- publishing social media posts on Facebook and Twitter about forthcoming events, speaker lunches, musical entertainment etc.
All of the above will be done in consultation with the Communications Committee, which retains all control over the editorial content, and within the editorial budget as outlined by the Committee
Your social media responsibilities include pushing content through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Linked In and other social media platforms. You may delegate duties, but will be ultimately responsible for the editorial direction and consistency of communication via various online platforms.
You will update the website almost daily and regularly as required with new editorial content. You will select which news and events to feature on the homepage. Once events have happened, those notifications should be removed from any “forthcoming events” pages or sections within 24 hours of the event having taken place.
It is expected that you will spend 15-20 hours per week fulfilling this role.
